Is Meez Too Hard For Seattle? Maybe. Is Shoebox Money Worth Picking Up? Definitely.
With Diamonds shining as far as the eye can see (or at least all the way across the room at his release and listening party last night at Liberty on Capitol Hill) Meez definitely has the swagger to back his anthemic claim to be the "Boss of the Sea Town"--even if no one else is really on their way to the throne in the same thugged-out way. The South End emcee has been active in the rap scene since the late '90s, and except for a short detour to the South by way of Atlanta has been more than eager to rep everything cash, street and Seattle. His solidly West Coast sound echoes the sentiment.
Meez – Eat Or Starve In The Streets Volume 1
Young Meez born as Jomar Ezell is a Seattle, WA native; he was born into a family with musical background. Music has always been in his blood growing up with his grandfather and uncle being jazz entertainers. Meez also grew up with a huge inspiration to rap from listening to NWA, LL Cool J, Master P, Outkast, 2 Pac, Snoop Dogg, and Too Short just to name a few. He started out free styling every chance he could. With few resources in the city he went independent with his childhood friends and cousins , and formed Hungry Click. He went on to release his first album in 1999 on Hungry Records; With the hit single, Hungry and Notches. Meez pushed units out of his trunk along the west coast and went on to release two more independent albums Untamed (Lil Jim and Attila) and Meez’s solo album Ghetto Resume.
